In this method various alcohols generally afforded the corresponding carbonyl compounds directly in good to high yield under ultrasound irradiation conditions. It shows that this kind of catalysis system is very active, selective and suitable for oxidation of benzylic alcohols. Furthermore, all products were obtained through a simple filtration and washed with solvent, and there was no need for column chromatography. The different substituents on phenyl ring in the fused pyrano uracil skeleton showed productive influence on its antimicrobial activity against some gram positive and gram negative bacteria like Pseudomonas aureus, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia and Bacillus cereus. Antibacterial screening revealed that the presence of heteroaryl, cyano and amino groups on uracil skeleton increases its penetrating power on bacterial cell wall and product becomes more biologically energetic. The microstructure of the activated carbon was observed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Batch experiments have been performed as a function of pH, contact time, dose of sorbent, initial Pb(II) concentration, temperature and strength ionic. It was found that the adsorption process was very quick and the equilibrium attained within 10 min. The maximum adsorption capacity for Pb(II) using Langmuir isotherm was 111.11 mg g-1. Thermodynamic study indicated that the Pb(II) adsorption was feasible, spontaneous, and endothermic. With special attention to the dynamic properties, the dynamic test was conducted by dynamic shear rheometer. The results show that the modified fillers disperse uniformly within PDMS matrix without aggregation and connect closely with the matrix than that of the unmodified fillers. Surface modification of filler increases the bound rubber content. The increase in silica loading leads to an increase in the silica-silica interaction and a decrease in filler-rubber interaction, which results in the aggregation of fillers and the increase of the bound rubber content. It was apparent that storage modulus, loss modulus and tanδ of unvulcanized PDMS/filler compounds filled with treated silica filler were lower than that of the untreated silica system. The ZnCrFeO4 catalyst can be readily removed using an external magnet and no obvious loss of activity was observed after three consecutive runs. Heterogeneous catalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, fourier transform infrared spectra, nitrogen adsorption−desorption isotherm and atomic absorption spectroscopy. The catalytic activity of heterogeneous Mn (III) salen complex and comparison with its homogeneous analogue was studied for green oxidation of sulfide derivatives using aqueous 30% H2O2 as an oxidant in water media. The results showed that heterogeneous catalyst was highly efficient in this reaction and corresponding products were obtained in good to excellent yields. The advantages of this catalyst include short reaction times, no side reactions, easy and simple work up, mild reaction conditions and excellent selectivity. BOX 19395-3697 Tehran, IranJournal Article20160416In the present work, a modified equation of state has been presented for the calculation of volumetric properties of supercritical fluids. The equation of state is van der Waals basis with temperature and density-dependent parameters. This equation of state has been applied for predicting the volumetric properties of fluids. The densities of fluids were calculated from the new equation of state at different temperatures and pressures in the supercritical region. The predicted densities have been compared with those obtained from the experiment, over a broad range of pressure. It is found that the new equation of state yields excellent results in comparison with 1894 experimental data points with overall average absolute deviation percent (AAD %) of 0.98% in density for the pure studied compound. The studied fluids are: CH4, C2H6, C3H8, C4H10, C5H12, C6H14, C7H16, C8H18, C10H22, C12H26, C2H4, C6H6, C6H12, C7H8, O2, N2 and CO2.
